“There are only four kinds of people in the world – those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who will need caregivers.” ~ Rosalyn Carter
Caregiving can be a very rewarding and bonding experience but it can also be very stressful. Home Instead Senior Care would like to reward one very deserving caregiver by giving them with a cruise to the Bahamas, and 40 free hours of care for the person’s senior loved one while they are away. Follow the link http://cruise.caregiverstress.com/ and post your nomination. Entries will include a short commentary on why you think this person deserves to win. The winning caregiver will be that person that gets the most votes, based on this entry.
Currently Maggie O. is leading in votes, and her nomination is as follows:
My big sister, Maggie, has consistently lived with our mom throughout her long Alzheimer’s journey. Mom has been on hospice for 34 months, which is attributed to her daily loving care. It would make me extremely happy to win this for Maggie. Please vote for her — each and every day! ❤
2012 winner Melissa Vaughan provided nearly constant care over the past four years for her 90-year-old mother with Alzheimer’s disease. Melissa provided both physical and mental support for her mother, and even slept in the same bed with her so she could attend to her needs 24/7.
Melissa’s mother, Barbara Vaughan, nominated her for the Caregiver Cruise Giveaway Contest because “My daughter deserves this cruise—she has not been away in four years,” she said.
Voting ends at midnight on August 24, so get your nominations in asap. Good luck!
